Andy and Josh are 10 years apart in age and worlds apart in most other ways. The only things they come together on are their love for comedy and their ability to make people laugh. When you take Andy’s outlandish, wild, and sometimes shocking antics and put them together with Josh’s outgoing, witty, and often comical personality, you get a comedy combination that gets audiences glued to the tube.
BROTHERS TV is not a sitcom, but a mix of the most popular concepts seen in comedy television today. Skits, pranks, spoofs, gags, shams… you name it, if it’s amusing and absurd, these two do it! From rehearsed studio sketches to unscripted street segments, the brothers surprise and shock while sending everyone at home into laughing hysterics!
Each ½ hour episode has a different theme throughout and is made up of four main segments. The first one, Screwball Skits, contains a mix of spoofs, satire, and original concepts. Like everything else in the show, all characters in these bits of sketch comedy are performed by the two brothers, regardless of their sex, age, or ethnicity.
No one can cause a scene in public quite like Andy can. Through pranks, gags, and general mischief making, Andy startles and amazes the audience in Andy’s Antics. They laughingly watch an unsuspecting public fall into the traps set by this little joker and his hidden camera crew.
Josh’s humor and improvisation shine through in Jokester Josh. This time the public know they’re being taped, but they don’t know what they’re really got themselves into! It’s amazing what some people will say and do to be on television, and Josh has no problem taking advantage of that. In each show he’s dressed up in something outrageous that’s related to the episode’s theme.
The fourth segment is Josh and Andy doing what brothers do best: arguing. Challenging Chats consists of debates on a wide variety of issues, showing the unique and opposing opinions and thoughts of the brothers while providing some very entertaining commentary.
The combination of these four segments provide for a fun-filled, variety-filled, and most importantly laugh-filled half-hour of television. What really makes this show unique are the two brothers. Their unmistakable differences in everything from personality to personal opinions put them at odds with each other, but their unique comedy stylings bring them together to hook the audience and make them laugh out loud over and over again!
Episodes of Brothers TV are independently produced by Andy and Josh Rimer of A & J Entertainment Inc. The series aired weekly on Access from October 2004 to March 2005, and is now airing on OUTtv twice a week.
